Tour Striker Inventor Martin Chuck’s Tour Striker Academy Debuts at Sunriver Resort
Martin Chuck has spent much of his adult life helping golfers become better players. He has a passion for teaching the game. Born from this passion was Tour Striker, the hugely popular series of golf training clubs invented by Chuck just a few years ago in his garage. “I found myself teaching so many golfers who were trying to scoop the ball at the bottom of the swing,” Chuck said. “That was how they tried to get the ball in the air. I wanted to create a club that would change that.” Chuck took the bottom grooves of an 8-iron to a grinding wheel, rounded the bottom third of the face, and the result was a club that promotes these very elements.
The Tour Striker trains players to hit down on the ball, promoting forward shaft lean at impact, thus creating more compression on the ball, resulting in more accurate shots and greater distance. We’ve all been told to “hit down on the ball,” and to “have our hands in a forward position at impact.” Well, now there’s a training aid that is specifically designed to do that very thing.
Tens of thousands of units have been sold since the Tour Striker club was released last year, making it the top selling training aid on the market, and garnering countless testimonials from high and low handicappers alike. Players most often report an increase of at least 10 yards in driving distance in their game, and that it is a great warm-up club on the range before a round.
The Original Tour Striker 8 iron is targeted for mid-to-high handicap golfers and those with slower swing speeds (under 90 mph with driver). The Tour Striker Pro 7 iron is geared for dedicated players with higher swing speeds.
The Tour Striker models, including the Pro X 7 iron, Tour Striker Pro 5 iron and Tour Striker 56-degree wedge, feature distinctive designs that have little clubface below the “sweet spot,” unlike a traditional club. The clubs have been designed so golfers intuitively teach themselves how to deliver the “sweet spot” of the club to the ball like an expert ball striker. A vibration dampening logo affixed within the back cavity of all the clubs helps reduce shock on miss-hit shots while developing your ball striking skills. Also available is a Tour Striker for women and younger players who wish to improve their game. The ladies and junior model is slightly shorter than the regular Tour Striker and has a graphite shaft.
Tour Striker Golf Academy
Tour Striker’s success has opened up new opportunities for Chuck. The success has far exceeded anything Chuck could ever have imagined. “I receive so much great feedback from golfers who have made their first hole-in-one, and from people who are consistently hitting their clubs more solidly and accurately,” said Chuck. “The game is now more enjoyable for them, and for me, that’s what it’s all about.”
After spending the last 15 plus years as the Director of Golf at prominent facilities in the Western US, Chuck is launching the Tour Striker Golf Academy at the beautiful destination resort at Sunriver, Oregon located just a short drive from the town of Bend, one of the premier golf destinations in the United States. The Tour Striker Golf Academy offers students four day sessions featuring three nights’ stay at Sunriver Resort, four rounds of golf with on course instruction from Chuck, three mornings of instruction and video analysis, a welcome reception on Thursday evening and breakfast and lunch (Friday – Sunday). How can you go wrong with that deal? Schools will be offered from the end of May until the beginning of October. “The range time is great and we make a lot of progress,” says Chuck. “I really enjoy getting the students on the course to apply their new ball striking skills to the many situations the course presents.” Get your Tour Striker and start “Striking the ball better, & enjoy the game more”.
