Suncadia, a year-round mountain resort community located just 90 minutes east of Seattle, is adding another option for golf enthusiasts to its already impressive portfolio with the addition of its new Rope Rider Golf Park. Set to open on Friday, July 13, 2012, the Golf Park, which will operate as a short game practice area and a three-hole short course, joins Suncadia’s two public courses – Rope Rider and Prospector – and the property’s private course Tumble Creek.

Suncadia’s Rope Rider Golf Park will function as a free short game practice area from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. After 3 p.m., the park will be used as a three-hole short course and will be available for private and corporate events. Cost for the three-hole short course will be $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 17 and younger.

“We are excited for the addition of the Golf Park at Suncadia as short game practice areas are lacking throughout the country,” said Brady Hatfield, director of golf operations for Suncadia.  “It will provide avid golfers the opportunity to improve this much overlooked aspect of the game and is a great addition to the amenities we already offer at Suncadia.”

The Golf Park is ideal for small group activities and for those with time restrictions. As a multi-use area, the Golf Park will function well for a variety of users from small corporate outings with less time commitment to a unique venue to enjoy a beautiful summer evening playing a few holes of golf with the family. In addition, Suncadia can tailor specialized casual or competitive game-play formats for group events of 15 to 20 players in a more convenient amount of time.

Suncadia also has three exceptional courses for those interested in playing a full round of golf. Named one of the “Best New Public Courses” by Golf Digest magazine and selected as one of the Top 50 new courses by Golf Week Magazine in 2007, Prospector is 18 holes of exquisite mountain golf. Created by the Palmer Course Design Company, the course is playable for all skill levels and presents challenges for the more experienced golfer. Opened in August 2011, Rope Rider, which was named 2011 Best New Course of the Year by Golf Magazine, is the newest course at Suncadia and compliments Prospector and the property’s private club Tumble Creek. Rope Rider’s par-72 course is a Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design and boasts more than 7,300 yards from the back tees and accommodates family golf with youth tees on every hole and shorter three and six-hole loops.

Suncadia’s golf courses headline a variety of luxury amenities at the resort including Portals Restaurant, the Swim & Fitness Center and the Glade Spring Spa. Suncadia is the only resort of its kind to feature championship golf, mountain overlooks and a winery within its boundaries, Swiftwater Cellars, which crushes grapes on-site and offers premium Swiftwater Cellars’ wines and Pacific Northwest cuisine.
