For too much of this Pacific Northwest spring and early summer, the concept of warm and sunny days has been but a fantasy– one bordering on myth passed along by elders. Yet there remain among us some faithful who believe in a summer of ’17.
For years, the very talented Linda DiGenova has been creating stunning and functional women’s golf apparel for Montréal-based NIVO, combining European design flair with North American sensibilities. The 2017 NIVO LivCool is her latest terrific summer collection, blending high fashion and freedom of athletic movement with a healthy respect for the power of the sun’s rays.
“This LivCool collection was interesting to create because we first had to find a fabric that not only felt ultra-comfortable but one that also featured strong moisture wicking properties and most importantly, an ultra-violet factor (UVF) of 50,” explained Diane Lanctôt, NIVO’s founder and president. “Linda [DiGenova], our Director of Apparel, found this cool nylon yarn and it answered all of the aforementioned. With the fabric in hand, we went to work on designing pieces that women would love because they look and feel fantastic and in which the high UVF protection becomes a big bonus instead of the reason for being.” The LivCool fabric also reduces skin temperatures by as much as four degrees Fahrenheit.
The long sleeve tops are available in both mock and shirt collar styles; the mesh underside of the sleeves allows for extra cooling airflow. The collection comes with tops in a multitude of solid colors and modern prints and features, matching skorts with comfortable mesh inner shorts. NIVO is available in pro shops and golf stores across North America and online at www.nivosport.com.
So, when the sun shines in this part of the golfing world, the LivCool collection will fit right in.
